Where is the wedding?
Our venue is located in Mill Spring, North Carolina, which is in the mountains between Asheville and Charlotte. Both the ceremony and reception will be at the same venue.
The street address is 444 Delind Drive, Mill Spring, NC.
When is the wedding?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 in the afternoon - please plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to allow yourself time to find a seat.
A reception will follow, which will end at 10 o’clock.
Where should I Stay?
We have reserved a room block at The 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa for our guests, but if you'd prefer to stay elsewhere, there are other hotels and plentiful AirBNBs in the area.
Please see the Lodging & Transportation section of our website for details on the room block and other hotels and lodging we'd recommend.
Our venue is located about 15 minutes south of downtown Lake Lure. Lake Lure is a very charming mountain town in a beautiful area, also just down the road from Chimney Rock, so we recommend making a weekend out of it if you're able! Many businesses in the area are in need of support as they continue working to recover from Hurricane Helene.
Fun fact: parts of the movie Dirty Dancing were filmed in the area, and the cast stayed at The 1927 Inn!
What should I wear?
We ask that guests dress in cocktail attire.
For ladies, we suggest midi or maxi length dresses, formal jumpsuits, or elegant separates. Shoes can be heeled or flat - please avoid anything like sneakers or flip flops, but wear something comfortable for walking on grass and in the gravel parking lot (and for dancing!).
For gentlemen, we suggest collared shirts and dress pants. Jackets are optional. Please avoid denim, shorts, and casual sneakers.
Both the ceremony and reception will take place outdoors. Temperatures in western North Carolina in May tend to be fairly pleasant, but please check the forecast and dress appropriately for the weather - and bring sunglasses!
How should I get there?
Our venue does have parking available if you’d prefer to drive yourself. It is somewhat limited, so please plan to travel with any others in your party.
Rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft can be difficult to find in the area, especially at nighttime. Please do not plan to rely on this.
For those that are interested, we have also arranged for a shuttle service to transport some of our guests between the 1927 Lake Lure Inn & Spa and the venue. You are welcome to take advantage of this even if you are not staying at the hotel (there is ample public parking next to the hotel). For more details and to register, please click here.
Please don’t drink and drive!
Can I bring extra guests or children?
Our venue does have a limited capacity, so we kindly ask that you bring only those who are indicated on your invitation and no one else.
Will there be food and beverages?
Of course! After the ceremony, there will be a cocktail hour with passed hors d'oeuvres, followed by a buffet dinner. There will also be an open bar with beer, wine, and liquor along with non-alcoholic options such as sweet tea and lemonade.
We are doing our best to accommodate a variety of tastes and dietary preferences - our goal is to have something for everyone. If you have any allergies we should be aware of, please let us know when you submit your formal RSVP.
How do I RSVP?
You can let us know your plans via our RSVP page. Please do so no later than April 3rd.
